Blog: Consignment Guide To Spring/Summer 2017 – Front & Company
Despite the dreary weather outdoors, Spring will be here before we know it and we couldn’t be more excited! That means it’s time to pack away your knits and heavy outerwear because we are now accepting spring/summer pieces in consignment. Keep reading to see which styles we’ll be looking for this season.
In preparation for the upcoming season, we’re switching up our colour palette. It’s the time for pastels to truly shine and this year, blush tones are stealing the show. Anything from baby pink to dusty rose, this hue is a huge trend and we’re jumping on board! We’ll also be looking for classic springtime colours like bright whites and soft neutrals as well as olive green and navy blue.
When it comes to shoes and accessories, we’re looking forward to seeing more playful pieces coming through consignment. Styles with block heels and open-toed mules are super sought after right now but we also love to see the tried and true styles like sneakers, sandals and loafers. And we will be starting to take more caps and sunglasses too!
And with warmer weather hopefully heading our way, lightweight fabrics are a must. Silks, cottons and linens are always a favourite, adding rich texture while still being breathable. Sheer fabrics are super popular as well due to their light and flowy nature. These types of pieces are ideal for layering, another trend we love.
Speaking of layering, being able to layer clothing is important because of the fluctuating weather of this season. And so we are looking for outerwear pieces that can easily be worn on their own or with other items. Denim jackets as well as lightweight bomber jackets work great for this and you can never go wrong with a classic trench.
And it’s all in the details. Pieces with unique details such as embroidery, metallic accents and purposeful distressing are what truly standout. We are also paying close attention to the styles and cuts that are coming in. Vintage denim is incredibly popular as well as wide cut culottes. Vintage in particular is something we are very excited to see come through consignment, whether it be dresses, shirts or tees.
